The World Record of “LONGEST SEGMENT OF LARGE INTESTINE REMOVED SURGICALLY BY A SURGEON” was achieved by Dr. HEMANT JAIN on 2nd March 2024 from Rajsamand (Rajasthan) India. He diagnosed and operated a case of recurrent sigmoid volvulus with large bowel obstruction with dolichocolon in a patient who presented with abdominal distention and pain. He removed the affected colon, which was grossly dilated and without any peristaltic movement. The measurement of the removed segment of the large intestine was 220 cm and has set a new world record for International Book of Records.
