The World Record of “MAXIMUM WASTE COLLECTED IN A BEACH CLEANUP IN A SINGLE DAY - SINGLE VENUE” was achieved by VASAI VIRAR CITY MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, GO SHOONYA AND NSS CELL (UNIVERSITY OF MUMBAI) on 21st September 2024 from Thane (Maharashtra) India. They organized an activity during which 52 tonnes of waste was collected at Rajodi beach clean-up drive on the occasion of International Coastal Cleanup Day and broke the previous record of collecting 46 tonnes of waste and has set a new world record for International Book of Records.
