Dr. Nizam Shah Bin Allabasc, from Selangor, Malaysia, conducted the first comprehensive academic research on mixed methodology for operational risk management in Islamic and conventional banking. His research, recognised as outstanding comprehensive research by an individual, won a national award. The study provided exclusive insights using a hybrid methodology that combined qualitative and quantitative approaches, informational interviews with erstwhile prime minister, policy makers, and referencing global case studies and opinions from banking regulators in 34 countries.
