The World Record of "MAXIMUM CIGARETTES WASTE RECYCLE" is achieved by NAMAN GUPTA on 24th October 2020 from Noida (UTTAR PRADESH ) India. Cigarette's waste is thrown mindlessly and end up as general litter in our environment by the smokers. Cigarette waste butts are non-biodegradable waste comprising of cellulose acetate which takes more than 10 years to decompose. A single cigarette butt can contaminate 1 litre of water and contains more than 20 toxic chemicals that degrades the environment adversely. Every year, a whooping 4.5 trillion cigarette butts are thrown in the environment making it the top most littered item globally. In India, there are no specific guidelines or regulations for the safe disposal or management of the cigarette waste due to lack of knowledge and awareness. However, he provided a unique end-to-end solution for this solution for this problem and ensure that this toxic cigarette waste can be recycled and its environmental impact can be reduced. Each kilogram of cigarette waste consists of over 4000 cigarette butts on average. They collect the cigarette waste from PAN India through cigarette vendors, corporate offices, rag-pickers, volunteers etc. and recycle the collected waste in the most environmentally responsible manner. The recycled material is used to make different categories of products like cushions, handicrafts, mattresses, mosquito repellents, customized soft toys etc. and the buyers get a wide range of designs to choose from. They eradicated 300 million cigarette waste from nature till date and as set a new world record for the International Book of Records.
