The World Record of “Maximum Books
Written on Economics” is achieved by Dr. Rajinder Kumar Uppal from Malout (Punjab)
India on 20th June 2020.
He wrote 72 Books on Economics and banking
system and set a new World Record for International Book of Records.
Most the Books are recommended by
national and international Universities.
Dr. R.K. Uppal, a man of letters
and prominent researcher, did his M.A. in Economics from Punjabi University,
Patiala in 1986. Thereafter, he obtained M. Phil. degree from MDU, Rohtak in
1987, Ph.D. degree from Punjabi
University, Patiala and Honorary D.Litt degree from International University
California, USA in 2009, Honorary D.Litt from Business University, Costa
Ricka-2104, Honorary D.litt from University of Asia, 2018. He also submitted
his D.Litt thesis in Utkal University, bhawneshwer, Orissa (India) in 2016.
Specializing in banking and finance, Dr. Uppal has 72 books in his credit (prescribed
in various top ranked universities) and has published 275 research papers on
the subject in reputed national and international journals. His research papers
have many implications to improve and make Indian banking system more
profitable, competitive and sound. Since 2014, Google Scholar Citations are
548, h-index 11 and i10 index is15. He also wrote 50 articles on Social and
Economic Issues in Tribune and leading News Papers. He also presented 72
research papers in national and international conferences among these 8 papers
have been accepted in international conferences in Hawai, Indonesia, Finland,
Costa-Rica, Australia, London, Pakistan and UK. Presently, he is head of the
Dept. of Economics, DAV College, Malout (Punjab)
and Principal Investigator of a UGC-Financed Major Research Project on Indian
Banking. He is actively engaged in some nationally and internationally significant
research projects. Sixty two students have completed their M.Phil, Eight research
scholars’ completed their doctorate under his guidance and four research
scholars are doing Ph.D under his direct guidance. He has organized 16 UGC/ICSSR
sponsored and financed national/international conferences in his institution.
He has chaired twenty two technical sessions in national and international
conferences. He has successfully completed seven post doctorate major research
projects approved and funded by UGC, ICSSR and HRD Ministry, New Delhi (India).
He is actively working in
advisory board of editors in national and international research journals. He
also awarded ‘Best Reviewer Award’by international journal, Pune. He is also chief-in-editor of a reputed
research journal. He also delivered many expert talks on Door
Darshan, Jalandher, All India Radia, Jalndher and some other TV Channels. Many
organizations at national level honoured Dr. Uppal with jewel of India award,
best educationist award, bhartiya shiromani purskar, arch of excellence in
education award, pride of India award, excellent research award, PCMA etc. He also remained active member advisory board of Life Insurance
company. He remained a member of Board
of Studies Economics in Panjab University, Chandigarh, Guru Kashi University,
Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda, Desh Bhagat University, Mandigarh. Keeping in view he
designed syllabus of UGC ad on courses e-banking, e-commerce from Certificate
level to Diploma and also Advance Diploma.
To crate the awareness among students, he delivered expert talks and
key- note address in national and international seminars. He also educates the young teachers about
creative and fertile research in faculty development programmes. On Various
social issues, he wrote tremendous press notes in leading news papers in India. Dr. Uppal singed a MOU with Desh Bhagat
University to organize various seminars/conferences on burning issues. He also evaluated many Ph.D Thesis,
Synopsis’s of Doctorate research and external examiner. He also remained staff
representive in local advisory committee of the DAV College, Malout (Punjab).
His many students got 100 percent marks in Economics in university
examination. He motivated, encouraged
and trained young minds in his institution for debate and many other
competitions. He honored with Life Time Achievement Award by Deshmesh Girls
College, Badal (Punjab). He also rendered his services as Adjutant Professor in
Malout Institute of Management and Information Technology. He is also president
of Economic and Growth Research Association.
Presently
he is working on Major Research Project "An Empirical Study of Loss of Human Resources with the Extensive Penetration of Cancer in Malwa Belt of Punjab
(India) and its Future Perspectives"
